Originating in 2005, the "Shields of Christ" represent first responders uniting to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ amongst brothers and sisters in the public safety community and the communities they serve, by providing specially formed retreats. Fellow public servants, active and retired, will facilitate and present a unique weekend under the guidance of a spiritual director. It will take place on Thursday evening and proceed into Sunday Morning at the retreat center. We will conclude with a special return mass and reception at our base parish. The retreat will integrate the spiritual experience of A.C.T.S., which represents Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service. This Shields of Christ women’s ACTS retreat is an all-denominational event committed to offer retreatants the opportunity to gain an understanding of God’s love and the true calling for their lives. It provides space for first responders to reinforce their faith, deepen their relationship with Christ, and find strength for their journey ahead. The October 23-26, 2025 retreat is scheduled to be held at the Cordi-Marian Retreat Center, located at 11624 Culebra Rd #501, San Antonio, TX 78253, (210) 798-8220. All faiths welcome!
The cost of the retreat is $200.00. A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 can be placed online at www.shieldsofchrist.org Tab “Upcoming Women’s Retreats.” Checks, Zelle online, and credit cards accepted via secure mobile app ($6.50 processing fee assessed). Limited financial assistance is available as qualified. The balance will be due any time before the retreat to include check-in. If you are unable to attend due to emergency, a second opportunity will be afforded to you after proper notification and communication.
